New operations manager

One of the best-known names in the automotive repair and refinishing industry has joined Bruntingthorpe Integrated Automotive Solutions (BIAS) part of C Walton Ltd, based at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground.  Ian Strong, who has a wealth of experience with some of the largest fleet bodyshops and repair companies, has been appointed general operations manager.

John Walton, Director of BIAS, said he was thrilled to welcome Ian to the company at a time of growth and expansion.  “We regard Ian’s appointment as a something of a coup.  His knowledge and experience of the world of automotive refinishing will be a great asset to BIAS as we grow the business.  We have always striven to keep quality, standards, equipment and facilities throughout Bruntingthorpe at the very highest levels, so it is also important that our staff are the very best.”

Ian, a member of the Institute of the Motor Industry who says cars are his passion, lives in Peterborough.  Before joining BIAS he spent 5½ years as depot manager for Autologic Holdings plc, one of the largest and most successful vehicle logistics companies serving the UK and European automotive industry.  Before that he held various positions at Eurofleet.

“I’m absolutely delighted to become one of the BIAS team,” he said.  “There is so much going on here.  It’s not just cars but also HGVs and trailers with a full-blown truck refinishing shop on site.  I really am relishing the many challenges.

“I know that my bodyshop and management experience over many years with some of the top names in the industry will benefit Bruntingthorpe.  And for me it is very rewarding to be working for a company that invests in the most ecological and technically-advanced equipment that not only protects the environment, but also achieves the highest-quality results in what is an extremely competitive industry.  What a great way to start the New Year!”
